Your booking confirmation may contain different conditions for a specific service. Clearly disclosed service-specific conditions apply subject to mandatory law.
We understand that travel plans sometimes change. This page summarises the standard cancellation, change and refund rules for bookings made with Wonder Albania.
This policy forms part of our Booking Terms and Conditions. Your booking confirmation may contain different conditions for a specific tour, date, hotel, activity, transport service or third-party supplier. Where special conditions were clearly disclosed before booking, those conditions apply to that service. Nothing in this policy limits a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to restrict.
1. How to cancel
The Lead Traveller must send a cancellation request to:
Email: hello@wonderalbania.com
Please include:
- the Lead Traveller’s full name;
- the booking reference;
- the tour or service being cancelled; and
- a telephone number where we can reach you if clarification is needed.
A cancellation takes effect when Wonder Albania receives the written request. Messages sent to a guide, hotel, driver or other supplier do not cancel your contract with us unless we confirm the cancellation in writing.
2. Multi-day tours, packages and tailor-made journeys
Unless your booking confirmation states different service-specific terms, the following cancellation charges apply:
| Notice received before departure | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| 31 days or more | Deposit plus any non-refundable supplier costs |
| 15–30 days | 50% of the total booking price |
| 8–14 days | 75% of the total booking price |
| 7 days or fewer | 100% of the total booking price |
The cancellation charge is calculated from the date we receive the written cancellation.
3. Day tours, activities and transfers
Unless your confirmation states otherwise:
| Notice received before the scheduled start | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| More than 72 hours | Any non-refundable supplier costs |
| 24–72 hours | 50% of the total booking price |
| Less than 24 hours | 100% of the total booking price |
4. Non-refundable services and supplier conditions
Some hotels, transport services, tickets, permits, activities or other arrangements may require advance payment and may be non-refundable or subject to stricter cancellation terms.
Where this applies, we will disclose the special condition before confirmation or include it in your booking confirmation. Those supplier costs may be retained in addition to, or as part of, the applicable cancellation charge. We will not retain more than the amount permitted by the Booking Terms and applicable law.
5. Deposits
Unless your quotation or confirmation states otherwise, the standard booking deposit is 30% of the total booking price.
The deposit reserves services and covers work and commitments made to suppliers. If you cancel 31 days or more before departure, the deposit and any additional non-refundable supplier costs will normally be retained.
Some bookings may require a larger or fully non-refundable deposit. This will be stated before you book.
6. Late arrival, no-shows and unused services
The following are normally treated as cancellation with a 100% charge:
- failure to arrive at the agreed meeting point;
- arriving too late to use the service;
- being unable to travel because of missing or invalid documents;
- refusal of entry or boarding;
- voluntarily leaving a tour after it begins; or
- choosing not to use an included service.
We recommend contacting us immediately if a delay may affect your booking. We will make reasonable efforts to assist, but cannot guarantee that a missed service can be rearranged.
No refund is normally provided for unused accommodation, meals, activities, transport or other services unless the failure results from our breach or applicable law requires a remedy.
7. Changes requested by you
Requests to change dates, Traveller names, accommodation, group size or other confirmed arrangements must be made in writing.
We will try to assist, but changes depend on availability and supplier approval. You are responsible for:
- any increase in the revised price;
- supplier amendment or cancellation charges;
- new single-room or group-size supplements; and
- any administration fee disclosed before the change is completed.
If a supplier does not allow the requested change, it may be treated as cancellation of the original service and a new booking.
8. Group-size changes
Prices may be based on a specific number of Travellers sharing vehicles, guides, rooms or other services. If one or more Travellers cancel but the others continue, we may recalculate the per-person price for the remaining Travellers.
The cancelling Traveller remains responsible for their cancellation charge. The remaining Travellers will be informed of any price adjustment before it is applied.
9. Cancellation or significant changes by Wonder Albania
We may occasionally need to change or cancel arrangements because of minimum group requirements, supplier failure, safety concerns, weather, road conditions, government restrictions or other operational circumstances.
Minor changes that do not materially affect the character or value of the booking may be made where reasonably necessary.
If we make a significant change to, or cancel, a qualifying package before departure, we will provide the options and remedies required by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, these may include:
- accepting the revised arrangements;
- accepting a suitable alternative, with an appropriate price adjustment; or
- cancelling and receiving a refund of legally refundable amounts.
If we cancel solely for commercial or operational reasons unrelated to your conduct, cancellation charges under Sections 2 and 3 will not apply.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, we are not responsible for non-refundable flights, accommodation or other arrangements that you booked independently and which are not part of your Booking Agreement with us.
10. Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances
Severe weather, natural events, border closures, government action, serious security incidents, public-health events, civil disruption, infrastructure failures and major transport disruption may affect travel.
We will provide reasonable assistance and any refund, alternative or other remedy required by applicable law.
Where unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination or its immediate vicinity significantly affect performance of a qualifying package or passenger transport to the destination, any mandatory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.
Additional accommodation, transport, meals or personal expenses may remain your responsibility or may be recoverable under your travel insurance.
11. Refund processing
Where a refund is due:
- it will normally be returned to the original payment method;
- it will be issued in the original payment currency;
- it will be processed without undue delay and within any period required by law; and
- bank processing time may apply after we issue it.
We are not responsible for exchange-rate differences or fees charged independently by banks, card issuers or payment providers.
We may request reasonable documents needed to assess the request. Refund calculations may deduct cancellation charges and disclosed non-refundable supplier costs.
12. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book. Appropriate insurance should cover cancellation, interruption, emergency medical expenses, evacuation, repatriation, delays, baggage and the activities included in your itinerary.
Wonder Albania does not guarantee that an insurer will accept a claim. You are responsible for reviewing the policy, exclusions and claim requirements.
13. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you believe a payment or refund is incorrect, please contact us first so we can investigate. This does not remove your right to contact your bank or payment provider.
Where a chargeback is opened, we may provide the bank or payment provider with the Booking Agreement, confirmation, communications, cancellation calculation and evidence of supplied services.
14. How this policy relates to the Booking Terms
This page is intended to make the standard cancellation rules easier to understand. It does not replace the complete Booking Terms and Conditions.
If this summary conflicts with:
- a lawful service-specific condition disclosed before booking;
- your written booking confirmation; or
- the Booking Terms and Conditions,
the more specific applicable term will control, subject always to mandatory law.
